Nutrition & Lifestyle Support For Weight Loss
Personalised 1:1 support for stubborn weight gain, cravings, blood sugar imbalance, and perimenopause weight changes.

Integrate Nutrition specialises in sustainable weight loss and long-term weight management. My approach is personalised and evidence-based, focused on habits you can maintain (without rigid dieting). We also look at common reasons people struggle to lose weight — including insulin resistance/blood sugar, perimenopause/menopause, thyroid issues, sleep and stress, gut health and appetite regulation.

Why it can feel so hard to lose weight
Most people don’t need more motivation, they need an approach that works with their physiology and lifestyle.
Strict diets may cause short-term changes, but they often backfire by increasing hunger, cravings, and rebound eating. They also rarely address why weight became difficult to manage in the first place, for example: blood sugar swings, poor sleep, stress hormones, appetite signalling, or hormone shifts during perimenopause.
At Integrate Nutrition, the focus is on steady, repeatable changes you can actually maintain — so results don’t disappear the moment life gets busy or your routine changes.
Common drivers of stubborn weight gain - and what we do about them
Weight challenges usually have more than one contributing factor. Together, we look at the patterns that most commonly show up when someone is struggling to lose weight, including:
Blood sugar and insulin resistance (often linked to cravings and fatigue)
Sleep and stress (which can alter appetite and food choices, and affect metabolic health)
Hormone shifts (including perimenopause/menopause, thyroid function)
Inflammation (which can impact energy, movement, and metabolic flexibility)
Gut health (bloating/constipation and food tolerance issues can make eating feel difficult to “get right”)
Daily routine and movement (not “burning it off”, but improving insulin sensitivity and appetite regulation)
Following a detailed health assessment, I may recommend functional testing to take the guess work out of what’s causing your health challenges, however this is optional.
What about weight-loss injections (GLP-1 medications)?
GLP-1 stands for glucagon-like peptide-1. It’s a hormone your gut releases after you eat. It helps to:
reduce appetite and increase feelings of fullness
slow stomach emptying (so food leaves the stomach more slowly)
support blood sugar control by improving insulin response and reducing glucagon release
GLP-1 weight loss injections such as Wegovy (semaglutide), Saxenda (liraglutide), or Mounjaro (tirzepatide) are authorised for weight management in adults who meet certain clinical criteria. In the UK these medicines should be prescribed and monitored by an appropriate clinician. If you’re using one, it’s important to do so safely and avoid unregulated sources.
Taking a GLP-1 medication or considering taking one?
Integrating nutrition and lifestyle changes still matters, especially for:
protein and nutrient intake (to protect lean mass and reduce deficiency risk)
blood sugar stability and cardiometabolic risk markers
building a routine you can sustain during and after medication
I work alongside your prescribing clinician to help you build the nutrition and lifestyle foundations that make results more likely to be maintained — and to reduce the “all or nothing” mindset that often shows up when appetite changes quickly. If you wish to come off of taking a GLP-1 medication, then this needs to be done under the guidance of your prescribing doctor, as well as adopting safe nutrition and lifestyle strategies.
Common side effects of GLP-1 medications
Whilst a GLP-1 medication may seem like the solution many struggling with weight loss have been waiting for, the reality can be quite different. Common side effects can range from:
Nausea & Vomiting
Diarrhoea & Constipation
Abdominal pain / cramps
Indigestion / reflux / heartburn
Bloating, belching, wind
Headache
Fatigue / feeling weak
Dizziness
Mood changes
More serious side effects that would require medical attention may include:
Pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas)
Symptoms: severe and persistent upper abdominal pain (may radiate to the back), often with vomiting.Gallbladder problems (gallstones/gallbladder inflammation), especially with rapid weight loss
Symptoms: right-upper abdominal pain, fever, jaundice, nausea/vomiting.Severe constipation / possible bowel obstruction
Seek urgent advice if constipation is severe or accompanied by significant abdominal pain, vomiting, or no gas/stool.Severe allergic reaction
Symptoms: swelling of face/lips/tongue, breathing difficulty, widespread rash.Worsening reflux or persistent vomiting causing dehydration or inability to keep fluids down
This matters because dehydration can trigger kidney complications.
What progress can look like
Success isn’t only a number on the scales. Depending on your starting point, goals and health history, progress may include:
fewer cravings and more consistent appetite
better energy and sleep quality
improvements in waist measurement and body composition
improved blood markers (e.g., glucose control, lipids, blood pressure)
more confidence around food without rigid rules
"I came to Jenny feeling hopeless after 18 months of personal training with no visible results. I feared that working with a nutritionist would mean restrictive diets, but Jenny’s ‘good, better, best’ approach helped me make sustainable choices without eliminating foods I love. Since working with Jenny, I’ve consistently lost an inch off my waist and hips every month—even over Christmas and holidays—while still enjoying meals out. My energy has improved, and my peri-menopause symptoms are easing. Learning about sleep and circadian rhythms has been life-changing, and I now wake up feeling refreshed and focused.” (Vic)

There is no one size fits all approach when it comes to weight loss. For some, cutting carbohydrates or even adopting a ketogenic style diet can be very effective, for others that’s not realistic or the best solution. It all depends on the driving factors for why someone has gained weight and is struggling to lose it.

Where appropriate I will provide meal plans, however the goal is to educate you on how to build a healthy balanced meal so you can adopt long term strategies long after we’ve worked together.
